Welcome to our District!

Park County School District #1 is located in Northwest Wyoming, which is bordered by Montana on the North and Yellowstone Park on the West.

Education has been strongly supported by the Powell community since opening its first classroom in 1908. Park County School District #1 encompasses a geographical area of slightly over 1,400 square miles and includes the communities of Powell, Clark, Garland and Ralston.

The District operates with seven attendance centers which include Clark Elementary School, Parkside Elementary School, Southside Elementary School, Westside Elementary School, Powell Middle School, Powell High School, and Shoshone Learning Center. With the exception of Clark Elementary (located in the community of Clark), all are within the city limits of Powell.
Current K-12 enrollment is 1,700+ students.

Dear PCSD#1 Community Members, The Wyoming Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction has been asked to write a report on the status of all schools in the state. As part of this report, they are collecting input from educators, parents and the community. School Property Disposition The Board of Trustee’s of Park County School District #1 will be accepting sealed bids for the “old” Southside Elementary building and property, located at 532 E Madison Street, Powell, Wyoming. The minimum sealed bid is $200,000.00. The building and property are being sold as is, no warranties expressed or implied. Sealed bids are due June 3, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at the Central Administration Office, located at 160 North Evarts, Powell, Wyoming. There will be an open house at the school building on Monday, May 13th from 4:00 p.m.to 6:00 p.m. We will be scheduling walk-throughs of the school building starting May 13th and ending May 17th, for an appointment call Sherri at 307-764-6186. district reserves the right to refuse or reject any or all bids and to waive any or all informalities or irregularities.

Notice of Summer Office Hours: Central Administration Building Park County School District #1 160 North Evarts Powell, WY  82435 Effective Monday, June 3, 2013, through Friday, August 2, 2013, office hours for the School Administration Building will be as follows: Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Friday 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The office will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2012, in observation of Independence Day.

Different After School Club This Year Due to budget constraints and the loss of some funding for our after-school program, we will not be having the same program this year. We will be having an extended day program, which will be academically focused on reading and mathematics with individual learning plans for the students. Students will be referred to the program for assistance in areas where we can help them develop the skills and concepts needed to meet their needs. Any student can attend the extended day program and will not be turned away. The program will assist and enrich all students that attend.
